Wendy (33): "The suspension masterclasses (series of 4 evenings) were a great way for us to explore this challenging form of shibari in a safe and fun environment. We learned about techniques, ropeflow, transitions and anatomy, both for model and rigger. With a small group of only three couples, there was ample time for personal feedback during sessions and after. It was an intense course with lots of information, but because of Butterfly's coherent and concise teaching method, everything sunk in well. The atmosphere in the group was very supportive, making it a fun learning experience altogether. In fact it has only made us want to learn and experience more of it!"
Linda (40): "It was so nice to feel the essence of what Japanese bondage can means during the 'Connective bondage' workshop: the rope as an extension of myself to really have contact with my partner and especially have a lot of fun. Whenever I'd be overtaken by my mind with questions like 'how about those knots again?', Butterfly soon realized that. With a pleasant intervention she brought me back into contact with my partner. I felt very comfortable within the group and therefore dared to 'show' myself as a novice rigger."
Hans (53): "I thought the 'Partial Suspension' workshop was a great success because there was a challenge for all different levels of the participants. The group was not too large, so there was sufficient personal attention for all couples and enough room for questions. Moreover, clues and instructions were not only from the perspective of the rigger, but also from the perspective of the person in the ropes. Very good. In addition, I found the atmosphere very pleasant; being seriously involved with ropes, but in a casual way. A very nice way to be with your partner and meet like-minded people."
Wendelien (34): "It was an intense and liberating workshop for me and my partner, to take part in the Power Play & Rope Bondage workshop. We dove deep into our relationship dynamic, and became more aware of patterns. Through this playful workshop format, we were able to explore and experiment with our desires. We laughed and cried...literally. I'm very grateful for the teachers to help us become more playful and personally I feel more empowered in the intimate part of our relationshop."
Arianne (42): "The workshop 'Connective bondage' was an intense experience for me in several areas. I was not comfortable due to work stress and related fatigue. Through the workshop I have (re)discovered a lot of myself when I am not relaxed: wanting to do things 'well', being more focused than being / feeling 'in the moment' . The workshop made that painfully clear to me again. There was a moment when I just wanted to walk out. But I'm glad I didn't. Which was partly due to the fact that Butterfly led the workshop particularly well. She saw my difficulties, and put a blindfold on me, so I fell out of my old pattern. That changed everything for my dynamic with my partner. It was a very beautiful and educational experience in several respects. Thank you, Butterfly."
Marco (43): “The 'Bondage basics' workshop was the first time I ever tried bondage. From the first minute onward, I felt Butterfly's passion for bondage and her drive to convey this passion to others. Her way of teaching is very hands-on. First she emonstrated, after which we could practice ourselves. We recieved lots of personal tips while doing so. This method was very pleasant, because it gave me a lot of time to practice and try out, so I could learn a lot in a short amount of time. Butterfly is the most inspiring when she talks about "connective bondage". For her, the basis of bondage is not the knots and ties but the intimacy and connection through the rope. After she demonstrated her style of tying, you know what you want to do when you grow up: play with rope. A lot."
Miguel (52) and Rosa (46): "Private tuition has been not just informative, but I dare say transformative for our relationship. We went in to take private classes in the technique of shibari, with a special interest in exploring our sensual energy. And indeed we started with some technique, but after taking 3 classes, I can now say Butterfly really helped us become more conscious in our intimate interactions. This has improved our relationship in general. This couldn't have happened in a group setting, so I'm very happy we decided to go for privates. I'd recommend it to any couple wanting to dive deeper into intimacy."
Michael (31): "Butterfly taught me to look at playing with rope in a very different way. The workshop 'Connective bondage' was an eye-opener for me. A lot of focus on intimacy and creativity. I always knew that the intimacy of tying is an essential part, but I saw it as fairly esoteric. Now I discovered that this way of binding suits me. This workshop invites an intimate experience of bondage, without immediately becoming sexual. "
Sietske (30): "Curious, but not having a clue where to start our bondage / shibari adventure, we found the 'Bondage basics' workshop online. What a good start for this was! In a relaxed setting we got to know (basic) knots, a number of ways of tying, types of rope and do's and don'ts. There was plenty of time to ask questions and a nice balance between demonstration and practicing ourselves. To me and my partner this was a very good starting point to dive in deeper and learn more. We'll continue this experiment, solo and during workshops by Butterfly."
Alexander (47): "I liked the workshop Power Play & Rope Bondage very much. It was a good mix of educational demonstration and opportunity to practice. The exercises really made me think about what 'power play' means to me. I learned a lot: about myself. But furthermore, we had a lot of fun."
Lola (34) and Paolo (37): "We decided to book private tuition by Butterfly, every other week. Her teaching and personality are very much in line with what we want. She emphasizes our bond and interaction, and she lets the explanation fit seamlessly with what we can and cannot do. One week we'll learn about the necessary technique and anatomy, and the other we really dive into the details: how do you both move effectively, for example. Each time the exercises fit in perfectly with where we stand in our development, and the great thing is that we now both learn to tie and to be tied, because personal coaching helps us both to understand our strengths and to our positive vulnerability. The growth we are experiencing together, through the use of rope, is greater than we could have imagined, so we have thrown the idea of just taking three lessons overboard. Butterfly teaches us so much that we will continue taking private tuition for a while."
Niels (34): "I thought the 'Bondage Basics' workshop was good and nice. There was a relaxed atmosphere, the workshop providers Butterfly and her partner really know what they are talking about and it is a pleasure to see them tie together. That certainly inspired me. The techniques were explained clearly, with enough time to practice but also a in a pleasant high tempo, so that we could get a good grasp of a number of things. Also, the information about safety was necessary and a perfect addiction to the content."
Marijke (28): "Well, 'Connective bondage' is a workshop like I have never experienced before. Little complicated hassle about technique, but instead working directly with rope, your body, your partner, the connection between the two of you and the rope, and the feelings that evoked. Such a different approach than the usual shibari workshop! Butterfly is an inspiring teacher. It is clear that she has knowledge and knows what she is doing in the technical field, and yet she knows how to transmit the information in an accessible and fun way. I have been working on bondage for about ten years, but Butterfly was able to inspire me again! What a nice, warm, informative and practical workshop. It was really very cool. Highly recommended! "
